Last weekend was a big one for high school seniors, and their friends and families, in Oyster Bay, Bayville and Locust Valley. Graduation ceremonies, which took place on Saturday at Locust Valley High School, and on Sunday at Oyster Bay High, were moments to be cherished.
Rain forced the ceremony at Locust Valley High to be relocated indoors, but the auditorium was decorated so beautifully that few attendees seemed bothered about the location change. There were 193 graduates, which included a National Merit Scholar.
Oyster Bay High’s graduation took place under sunny skies. Punctuating the ceremony were graduating seniors who signed “The Star- Spangled Banner” as the Chamber Singers sang. Among the 125 graduates was a National Merit Scholar and two students who have joined the armed forces.
