East Rockaway family makes generous donation to Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop University Hospital

On August 23, brothers Bryan and Mike Kienke held a golf outing in memory of their brother, Gregg, who died in 1984 at the age of ten weeks.

On Oct. 5, the Kienke family, including mother Debi and father, Bill, went to Winthrop University Hospital Cancer Center for Kids with a $45,000 check. Dr. Mark Weinblatt and Dr. Phil Scimeca were two of Gregg’s doctors when he was at North Shore University Hospital, and now are heading the Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop University Hospital.

Winthrop’s Cancer Center for Kids is the largest outpatient facility for treating children with cancer and blood disorders in Nassau County. For more information, visit www.winthrop.org/cck
