Assemblyman Tom Alfano helped kick-off the event by thanking audience members and performers for their outstanding contributions to the Elmont community. "Tonight we're here as families who care about our community's young people and future," said Alfano, who added, "this celebration highlights what makes our community so strong - it is its diversity."
