War hero and veteran Chris Levi had his wheelchair stolen earlier this week after leaving it in front of his house while running errands.
The wheelchair which is specifically designed for Levi’s use, was decorated with several military decals including a purple heart embroidered on its back.
Levi, who served in Iraq with the U.S. Army as a corporal until 2008, lost both his legs in an IED explosion while on patrol in his Humvee in Baghdad.
After returning home, Levi was sponsered by the locally-based Bulding homes for Heroes charity, who raised more than $100,000 to renovate his home to make it wheelchair accessible. He and BHFH were featured in the Herald in a story two years ago.
