The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory in effect from noon to 8 pm Wednesday evening in portions of southeast New York including Valley Stream. Earlier today, village officials posted a heat advisory warning on the village Facebook page with helpful tips and information.
The village Community Center located inside Arthur J. Hendrickson park and the Henry Waldinger Memorial Library are designated cooling stations available to the public as they wait out the heat wave. The venues are following their regularly scheduled hours.
