Help for children in need in Rockville Centre

Students at Covert Elementry School joined with Project Linus, a nonprofit organization that provides blankets to children in need, to bring joy to hungry and homeless children on Long Island. Under the direction of teachers Paula Lake and Valerie Sprague, the children made fleece blankets that will be donated to children at the Inn in Hempstead.

When asked what she’d like to see come of this community service Mrs. Lake said, “Our hope is that the blankets will make each child feel special and give them a feeling of security.”

Materials for this project were donated by the Raymar Children’s Fund.
