Organizer Mitra Ramdas, of the Holy Name of Mary school, called a car wash that raised $2,000 on Oct. 14 “a great success,” despite the cloudy weather.

With about 43 volunteers — 19 students and 24 parents — Ramdas said the crew washed about 50 cars throughout the day. Breakfast was provided by Magic Bagels and Starbucks, and lunch was provided by Chick-fil-A.

The funds will go toward the school’s annual Washington D.C. trip.
