The evening, billed as Young Scientists Night, also included an exposition of students' science research projects.
Jason Becker, a fourth-place Siemens-Westinghouse Research Contest winner this past year, led the induction ceremony with the Pledge of Allegiance. Carol Eisenstat and Samantha Goldman of Kennedy, Jessica Sorrentino and Benjamin Jackson of Mepham, and Danielle Alexander and Helaina Skop of Calhoun, were selected to present their work before all those assembled that evening.
During the induction ceremony, Adrita Khan, of Kennedy, lit the character and service candle; Christine Schwall, of Mepham, the leadership candle; and Jason Shaev, of Calhoun, the academic achievement candle.
Gayle Denman, one of Kennedy's four Intel Science Research competition semifinalists (including Eisenstat, Goldman and Julie Friedman) led inductees in the Honor Society Pledge.
