Hotel set to open next week

The hotel will open on June 23, but prospective guests have already begun to roam its halls. There are 83 rooms in total, 20 of which are studio suites including a sitting area and wet bar with refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker.
Abramson, who is the chief executive officer of Bramson House, built the hotel on the former site of his factory, which is now in Freeport. Bramson House manufactures textiles such as bedding and curtains for a number of hotels across the country. Hampton Inn features the Bramson House textiles.
The rooms surround a four-story atrium, which houses a fountain and two glass elevators. Historical pictures of Rockville Centre hang throughout the lobby and atrium.
Continental breakfast will be served in the atrium. There is a fitness center and meeting room for that fits 45 people. A 24-hour convenience store will be run by the front desk. This is the only Hampton Inn on Long Island.
It is different from other Hampton Inns around the country, which are usually two stories, said general manger Denise DeSabato. It has more of a look of an Embassy Suites, another chain owned by Hilton, she added.
The hotel has started to get bookings, including "a lot of wedding [guests]," said DeSabato.
