House Republicans introduce resolution to expel George Santos

This week has been a tough one for the fabulist Representative George Santos, who on Tuesday saw 10 additional charges added to his indictment. Then House Republicans, led by New York Representative Anthony D'Esposito, have introduced a resolution to expel the freshman congressman from office on Wednesday.

D'Esposito made the announcement on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, on Wednesday afternoon. NBC news reported that Santos responded emotionally to the news, and claimed that the only people this would affect were the residents of his district.

"If they want to be judge, jury and arbitrator of the whole (expletive) thing let them do it," he said, adding later "They just want to silence the people of the 3rd Congressional District."

The resolution has been co-sponsored by fellow New York House Republicans Nick LaLota, Brandon Williams, Mike Lawler, Nick Langworthy and Marc Molinaro.
