Assemblyman Brian Curran paid a visit to Centre Avenue School to give students a lesson on the ways state government impacts their lives each day.
The students, along with their teachers Maryann Napolitano and Hannah Park, discussed the various levels of government and the role each plays in day-to-day life. Assemblyman Curran taught the students how a bill becomes a law in New York.
“Speaking with the students, I was reminded of just how insightful and inspiring our young people can be,” said Curran. “The children were prepared for our discussion and their questions, while poignant, often brought a smile to my face. The parents and teachers of Centre Avenue School do a wonderful job and they should be proud of all of the outstanding students.”
Curran added that is was encouraging to see the hard work that both students and teachers put into the education in the classroom. “I’ve made it a priority to make sure our children receive their fair share of school aid from the state, and am happy to do my part to show my appreciation for these students.” And that appreciation came by way of a pizza party for all!
