How I met my valentine

Posted

I met my Valentine, Beth in an unusual way — I was her waiter at the Uniondale Marriott back in 1988.

The moment I saw her sitting in my section with her parents, I said to myself “this is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.” I approached the table as Beth’s father was reciting, in minute detail, what was on the buffet that night. As I watched him finish, I greeted the table by saying, “let me tell you what’s is on the buffet tonight.” Beth immediately laughed and was the only one to get my silly joke. At that point I knew we’d hit it off. When they were about to leave, I knew I would never see her or her parents again, so I asked her out. Her parents seemed to like me and Beth was agreeable. We went out for a year or so, but went our separate ways till we recently reuinted.

It’s been 25 years since I served her spaghetti that night, but we’re still laughing together and she’s as beautiful as ever.
