      Kids' voices:
      "Homework isn't fair. After working all day in school, teachers still give us so much homework every day, even weekends. What do they think, we don't have a life?"
      "I don't mind some homework. But if it's like research papers, art projects, book reports, I can't handle it. I don't even know where to begin, so I don't."
      Parents' voices:
      "After a busy day at work, I can't relax until my kids' homework is completed. It adds an extra hour or two onto my day. I so look forward to the summer. It's the only time we enjoy ourselves as a family without having to hassle the children about some assignment they have."
      "I'm divorced. When my son is with me, I make sure he does his homework no matter how long it takes. But when he's with his father, it's different. His dad doesn't want to be his teacher. He wants to spend time with his son doing other things. As a consequence, my son's grades are lowered because he doesn't finish his assignments every night. But it's not his fault."
      These people are not the only ones who are bothered by the amount of homework kids receive today. Many schools give their students 50 percent more homework than 20 years ago. Some educators believe that this is unnecessary, creating trouble for teachers (too much homework to correct), kids (over burdened with work) and parents (too much stress). Here's what they say:
