Children are out of school until September, but the Merrick Library offers plenty of activities to keep them occupied over the summer.
The library, for example, recently held a scavenger hunt, giving children an opportunity to create arts and crafts, scavenge the library for hidden artifacts and even receive a tutorial on how to use the library’s automated book catalogue. The children became amateur detectives for the a day, as they worked together and kept cool inside of the library for some good, old-fashioned fun.
