Inviting community to celebrate Purim

The Oceanside Jewish Center held its Purim carnival on Mar. 8, celebrating with games, food, raffles and prizes and inflatable rides.

Former PTA President Ivy Reilly said, “This Carnival represents more than just the celebration of one of the most joyful holidays in the Jewish calendar; it recognizes that we are part of a larger secular community. It gives us an opportunity to share OJC’s welcoming attitude and teach others about our culture of tolerance and acceptance that is embedded in our Jewish traditions.

Center Vice-President Andrew Berman said, “A lot of the work has been due to our current president Ian Brecher and former PTA President Ivy Reilly. [They are] dedicated to making the synagogue an amazing place that is attracting lots of new young families from Oceanside and the surrounding area.”
