The Island Park Chamber of Commerce welcomed State Senator Todd Kaminsky to its monthly meeting Aug. 4. The senator addressed the myriad of agencies responsible for disbursing monies to the area in the wake of Hurricane sandy. He would like to hold a joint meeting of all involved so the entities can coordinate their efforts. He agreed storm sewer repair was a top priority. He also addressed the possibility of Nassau County using a 100-year-old pipe built for the Brooklyn Water Works to move sewage from the Island Park area to the Cedar Creek pumping station.
