It was all about experimentation

The Herald stopped by to see the children's creativity and understanding of science firsthand. Topics ranged from volcanic eruptions to coastal erosion. Student participation was entirely voluntary. Their science experiments were not judged, and all received certificates of recognition for making the effort to work and learn.
Their projects were prepared and completed at home. They were asked to develop hypotheses, design and complete experiments, and formulate conclusions, presenting their findings in written reports and on display boards.
A second science fair was also held for fifth-graders at Shore Road School this month.
