The Joint Council of the Merricks is organizing a community meeting for Wednesday, September 20 at the Merrick Public Library. Frank Corva, a local architect and movie theater developer who has proposed construction of a playhouse in the heart of Merrick, will be invited to attend and answer questions about his plans, say Joint Council representatives.
Additionally, the Central Merrick Homeowners Association will present its "Working Together to Make Merrick a Better Place to Live Award" to Sanitation Code Enforcement Inspector Michael Gallagher. Hempstead Town Supervisor Richard Guardino is scheduled to make the presentation.
The Joint Council comprises the Central Merrick Homeowners Association, Merrick Park Homeowners Association, Merrick Gables Association, Smith Pond Homeowners and the newly inducted Lindenmere Association.
