Teenagers in grades seven through 12 can compete to name old songs at the Henry Waldinger Memorial Library on July 27 at 6:30 p.m.

Paint a masterpiece

Celicia Cargill of Authentic HeARTwork will teach guests to create their one-of-a-kind Summer masterpieces at the Elmont Memorial Library on July 30 at 1 p.m. Registration is required.

Nassau Pops concert

The Nassau Pops band will be playing music from Broadway, television shows and movies at the Band Shell on the Village Green on Aug. 1 at 8 p.m. The concert is free.

Swinging tunes for a summer’s eve

The acclaimed 1920s-era revival band Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks as part of its Picnic Pops series, on Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 7 p.m. (gates open at 5 p.m.) Bring a lawn chair or blanket and some friends, and bandleader Giordano and his ensemble will provide the soundtrack for an enjoyable evening. The beat goes on

The tunes will be lively at Heckscher Park, on Sunday, July 29, 12-10:30 p.m., at the 13th edition of the Huntington Folk Festival. Legendary folksinger-songwriter Tom Rush (accompanied by up-and-comer Matt Nakoa) headlines the popular event.
