Brooklyn Ave, train tracks being cleaned up
Whoever dumped an old refrigerator in the wooded area between the rail road tracks and the west end of Brooklyn Avenue in Baldwin at least had the good sense to remove the doors so no children could get trapped inside.
The old appliance is perhaps the most glaring example of the kind of junk and garbage that has been dumped in the area over the years.
The trash is definitely a problem and it's gotten worse, said Marion Biondo who has lived on Brooklyn Avenue for five years and grew up in the neighborhood. I won't even walk my dogs back there because of the broken bottles.
