Kicking for a cure in Rockville Centre

Posted

On June 9, Ben Sellitto and James Ryan hosted the second annual Kicking for a Cure fundraiser at Skelos Sports Complex. The boys organized the soccer-themed fundraiser to raise money for the Sarcoma Foundation of America in Honor of Gus Sellitto, Ben’s father, who had been diagnosed with angiosarcoma.

In the true spirit of Rockville Centre, Ben and James received tremendous support from the community, and said they’d like to specifically thank the Rockville Centre Soccer Club, Busco’s Deli, Mayor Francis Murray, Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tony Brunetta, the village, and all the generous and compassionate residents and friends who donated baskets and items for the raffles, baked goods to sell at the event, money and time.

The boys raised more than $7,000 for the Sarcoma Foundation of America to assist its efforts in finding a cure in our time.
