Pat's Farms of North Merrick donated watermelons, and Patricia Shia offered a cultural performance. A special visit was also paid by members of the North Bellmore Fire Department, who gave a presentation on fire safety, and Town of Hempstead Councilman Gary Hudes and town Clerk Mark Bonilla provided fingerprinting with the town's "Child Safety I.D. Kit."
Nancy Kaufman, the PTA co-president, said the carnival is way to thank students for the many charity events they hold throughout the school year. "This year, our kids were involved in a food drive for the Harvest House soup kitchen in Freeport, winter jacket collection for Coats for Tots and held a volleyball charity event," Kaufman said. "We thank them for their volunteerism by hosting this carnival."
