Defending Nassau Conference III champion Lawrence and 2009 runner-up Lynbrook flexed their muscles at Hofstra and will meet for the title next Friday at 7 p.m.

LAWRENCE 49, HEWLETT 14
The second-seeded Golden Tornadoes scored on each of their first five possessions and racked up 353 yards and 19 first downs in the opening half of a 49-14 romp over No. 5 Hewlett. Quarterback Samson Bialostock rushed for two touchdowns and had a 48-yard scoring strike to Tyler Fredericks to lead the way.

Lawrence, which lost 35-7 at Hewlett in Week 3 of the regular season, led by that same score at halftime. Tyler Fredericks and Ryan Frederick each had two rushing touchdowns. The Bulldogs got a touchdown pass and touchdown run from quarterback Alex Kahn.

"We're playing our best ball at the right time," Lawrence first-year coach Joe Martillotti said.

LYNBROOK 54, PLAINEDGE 20
Top-seeded Lynbrook bullied its way to the final behind a stellar performance from tailback Travis Locke, who ripped through Plainedge for 250 yards and five touchdowns to lead a 54-20 victory.

Locke had 193 yards and four touchdowns on 12 carries in the first half as the Owls raced to a 33-13 advantage. Lynbrook scored on each of its first three possessions, and second-quarter touchdowns by Locke and Mike Kozlakowski answered a pair of Plainedge scores that cut the margin to seven.

The Owls will be looking to avenge a 23-22 defeat at Lawrence in Week 6, as well as last year's 34-point defeat in the county championship game.
