Letter to the Lynbrook/East Rockaway Editor (July 1-7)

Animal shelter thanks LHS students

To the Editor:

On behalf of Bobbi and the Strays animal rescue, I would like to thank the Lynbrook High School National Art Honor Society for its recent auction to help raise funds for our organization.

We are a nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue in Freeport and Glendale, Queens. The NAHS is designed for high school students in 10th through 12th grades who have demonstrated high achievement in art. Lynbrook’s group recently hosted an online auction with 18 hand-painted birdhouses made by the members. They raised more than $1,000 and we are so grateful.

The money will help in our unending goal of rescuing animals from kill shelters, homelessness, neglect and abuse. Thank you to the wonderful and generous people who participated in this auction, but especially to the awesome students in the LHS National Art Honor Society. And congratulations to the graduates!
