Some Lincoln Avenue residents are showing a different kind of road rage these days. Angry about the amount of traffic flowing through their neighborhood, and the sometimes excessive speeds at which some of the vehicles are moving, neighbors met with village and county officials at Village Hall to get some answers.
Villagers also complained of noise and an unusual number of trucks lumbering through the residential neighborhood. Many of the members of the audience said they are having trouble getting in and out of their driveways because of incessant traffic.
It takes me 15 to 20 minutes to get out everyday, said one Lincoln Avenue resident.
Ray Ribeiro, Assistant Director of Traffic Engineering for Nassau County, said that the problem has been studied at the request of Nassau County Legislator Joseph Scannell.
