Lincoln exhibit coming to EMPL

The East Meadow Public Library will soon host an educational exhibit called “Lincoln: The Constitution and Civil War.” The program was made possible by a grant from the National Endowment for Humanities. The traveling exhibit was organized by The National Constitution Center and the American Library Association Public Programs Office.

The program’s opening day will kick off on Saturday, and will feature Civil War re-enactors from Co. K, 67th NYVI First Long Island. There will also be arts and crafts for kids throughout the day.

The schedule for opening day is as follows:

• 10 a.m.: Company K, 67th NYVI Long Island re-enactors all day
• 11 a.m.: Emancipation Proclamation with James Coll
• 11:15 a.m.: Children’s programs with Diane Fish
• 12:30 p.m.: Draft Riots with Bud Livingston
• 2 p.m.: Abe Lincoln in the 21st Century a play with David Houston
• 3:30 p.m.: Songs of the Civil War with Randy Noojin
