Did you get your duck yet? If not, there’s still time. The Rockville Centre Lions Club will once again join forces with the Rockville Centre Parks and Recreation Department this Saturday, Sept. 15 to hold the second annual “Duck Pluck” at Kids Fest.
All summer, Lions Club volunteers have been selling Ducks for Diabetes to raise money for various diabetes and sight-related charities. By buying a duck, you become eligible to win dozens of prizes, including $1,000 in cash, electronics, games, toys and gift certificates at the Duck Pluck at Kids Fest. All money raised will be donated to Lions Club charities, both sight-related and local, including the Rockville Centre Community Fund, the museum at The Phillips House, the Youth Council, Little League Challenger Division, Sandel Senior Center’s FOSSI, American Legion and veterans programs, Mercy Medical Center’s Outpatient Diabetes Education Center, Winthrop-University Hospital’s Diabetes Camp, the Guide Dog Foundation, St. Baldrick’s, the Rockville Centre St. Patrick’s Parade Committee, Lions Eye Foundation and many more.
Join the Lions Club duck mascot and volunteers at Kids Fest in their trademark RVC Lions attire to sponsor your ducks, raise money for charities, become eligible for great prizes, and join in the fun of the second annual Duck Pluck.
