Rehabilitation work that the Long Island Railroad has scheduled for the north track on Atlantic Avenue, beginning Saturday, October 8 at 9 p.m. ending Sunday, October 9 at 11:59 p.m. In addition, they have also scheduled work for the south track on Atlantic Avenue beginning Saturday, October 15 at 9 p.m. ending Sunday, October 16th at 11:59 p.m. as well.
Please plan ahead to use alternate routes as follows:
East Bound:
Proceed east on Atlantic Avenue to Ocean Avenue. Proceed north on Ocean Avenue to Pearl Street. Proceed east on Pearl Street to Rockaway Avenue. Proceed south on Ocean Avenue to Atlantic Avenue then west on Atlantic Avenue.
West Bound:
Proceed west on Atlantic to Rockaway Avenue. Proceed north on Rockaway Avenue to Pearl Street. Proceed west on Pearl Street to Ocean Avenue. Proceed south on Ocean Avenue to Atlantic Avenue, then west on Atlantic Avenue.
Upon completion of the crossing panel installation, temporary paving material will be placed on the roadway. While work is in progress, the LIRR and MTA police will provide the necessary flagmen, detour signs and crossing protection. The approaches to the crossings will be permanently repaved in the near future. This effort will affect only a single lane of traffic that will be maintained for both directions.

East Bound:

Proceed west on Atlantic to Rockaway Avenue. Proceed north on Rockaway Avenue to Pearl Street. Proceed west on Pearl Street to Ocean Avenue. Proceed south on Ocean Avenue to Atlantic Avenue, then west on Atlantic Avenue.
