The Valley Stream Little League's senior division team lost to Castle Hill, Bronx in the Section 5 Tournament game on July 28. Valley Stream was defeated 16-0 at Barasch Field in Rockville Centre and the game was called after five innings.
The boys won the District 29 title two weeks earlier, then won the first two games of the sectional tournament, defeating Queens North 7-6 on July 24 and Queens South 10-2 the following day. The team had won six straight games up until the section final under Coach John Faust.
