Little St. Nick hosts 7th charity golf tournament

Posted

Ray Mohler Jr. — a.k.a. Little Saint Nick, hosted his 7th annual golf tournament on Oct. 7, at the Woodmere Country Club, with proceeds going to help grant wishes to sick and underprivileged children.

Ray, an East Rockaway resident and a ninth-grader at Lynbrook High School, is the founder of the Little Saint Nick Foundation, a nonprofit that provides sick children with toys, games and more.

When Ray was 4, he was diagnosed with a rare hip disease and was a patient at Schneider Children’s Hospital, and after he was released, he decided that he wanted to give something back to the friends he left behind at the hospital.

The foundation, which operates through grants, donations and fundraisers, changes the way children think about hospital stays by allowing them to do what they love the most. The foundation also grants wishes to disabled children and those with special needs. For more information, visit www.littlestnick.org.
