The Long Island Nets (3-2), the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, defeated the Maine Celtics (2-3), 115-110, on Monday evening at Nassau Coliseum.
While on assignment with Long Island, Brooklyn center Noah Clowney notched his first double-double of the regular season with 27 points and 14 rebounds to go along with four assists, one steal and two blocks in 35 minutes. Brooklyn two-way forward Jalen Wilson recorded his first double-double of the regular season with 24 points and 11 rebounds in addition to one assist, one steal and two blocks in 34 minutes. Long Island guard Kennedy Chandler added 22 points, seven rebounds, nine assists and three steals in 38 minutes.
Long Island's defense made an impact in the first quarter, outrebounding Maine 18-13. The Celtics snuck past the Nets and closed the period ahead by one, 28-27. Long Island worked hard to take the lead in the second quarter, outscoring Maine 39-28 on 60.9 percent shooting from the field and 58.3 percent shooting from behind the arc. The Nets took the lead and closed the period ahead by 10, 66-56.
