Lyn man charged with rape

      According to Katie Grilli-Robles of the Nassau County district attorney's office, the victim met Tenorio at the Purple Frog, a bar on Merrick Road in Lynbrook. When she mentioned that she was looking to rent an apartment, Tenorio said that he had a room she could rent from him. The victim accompanied Tenorio to an upstairs apartment on Merrick Road in Lynbrook, where he locked the door and, according to a police report, raped her.
      Police officer Thomas Blanchard of the Nassau County Police Department said that the victim then left the premises and called police. Tenorio was arrested a short time later. The victim was treated at an area hospital.
      Tenorio was charged with first-degree rape.
