Lynbrook Elks Lodge No. 1 receives special visitors

Posted

New York State Elks Association President Brian Greene recently visited New York Elks Lodge No. 1 in Lynbrook, along with First Lady Tonia Greene, and John and Cari Kassebaum from Glens Falls Lodge No. 81 for a breakfast event.

The guests were welcomed by District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler John Nuzzi Sr., who serves the southeast district, which includes Elks lodges in Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, Hicksville, Massapequa, New Hyde Park and his home lodge, No. 1 in Lynbrook.

The No. 1 Lodge comprises Baldwin, Franklin Square, Freeport, Hempstead and Lynbrook, where Nuzzi has served in the past as a lodge trustee and was honored as Elks Officer of the Year.

The Order of the Elks is an American fraternal order founded in 1868. There are about 480 members of the New York No. 1 Lodge, and roughly 800,000 members nationwide.

In addition to the visit from Greene, the lodge welcomed Major Projects Chairman David Brown, and his wife, Vicky, and Major Projects Ambassador Charles Dieteman, along with his mother, Tara, and grandmother, Paula.

The lodge members were also recently honored by State Sen. Todd Kaminsky and Assemblywoman Judy Griffin, who presented Nuzzi with a citation for all he has accomplished.
