A total of eighty-five Lynbrook Public School students in grades 4 through 12 qualified to perform in the New York State Music Association’s All-County Festival in January. This is a new record for the district.
These students will join a select group of musicians from all over Nassau County for a gala concert series at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, featuring select band, chorus, orchestra and jazz band performances. Hundreds of students auditioned for this honor at the NYSSMA Solo Evaluation Festivals held last spring.
LISFA String Festival
Eleven students were chosen to perform at the Long Island String Festival Association String Festivals. Isaac Polinsky, Mary-Catherine Skoulos and Joshua Tierney all performed at the LISFA Secondary Festival in November. Benjamin Begun, Jonathan Cuevas, Gabriel Polinsky, Harper Beattie, Charlee Gordon, Jake Fellows, Molly Carter and Graceanne Yadanza will perform in the LISFA Elementary Festival in March. All were recognized as representing the highest quality string musicians at their grade level.
