Kacey Carter named scholar athlete; Molly a national all-star

Lynbrook senior Kacey Carter has been named a News 12 Scholar Athlete. She and her fellow scholar athletes were honored for their achievements on and off the playing field at an end-of-year banquet on June 11 at the Woodbury Country Club.

A three-season varsity athlete, Carter captained the cross-country team and holds the school record in the 5K. She received the 2010 Nassau County Coaches Award and was named an All-Conference player in 2011. Also captain of the winter track team, she received All-Conference honors in the 1000m. In the spring season, she was a member of the 2011 conference championship lacrosse team, earning All-Conference honors in 2011 and scholar athlete honors from 2009 through 2011.

Off the field, Carter is vice president of the senior class, treasurer of the Leadership Club and Key Club, managing editor of the school newspaper Horizon and a member of Athletes Creating Excellence. Outside of school, she has participated in the Nassau County Athletic Leadership Conference and is a member of Girl Scouts. Carter has signed a letter of intent to play lacrosse for Marist College.

Molly Carter a 2012 Brine National All-Star

Molly Carter, daughter of Bill and Kathy Carter and Student at Lynbrook North Middle School, has been named as a 2012 Brine National All-Star and has been selected to represent Long Island in the 2012 Brine National All-Star Lacrosse Academy and National Lacrosse Classic that was held in Maryland June 30.

The Brine National All-Star Lacrosse Academy brings the top 160 middle school lacrosse players in the country to one venue, where 8 regional teams will compete to become the 2012 National Champion.

Molly completed a very successful 7th grade season finishing with 52 goals. She is currently a member of the Long Island Liberty Lacrosse Club playing for the Liberty Black 2017 team. She is also playing in a competitive, high school summer lacrosse league based in Manhasset.
