School officials took time out from budget discussions at the Board of Education meeting on Feb. 13 to honor nearly 125 district students for their musical achievements.
“We all know that many of our music students perform at a very high level of skill, but these students have really distinguished themselves!,” said District Director of the Arts Dr. Brian Zuar. “Not only did they impress us with their musical virtuosity, but also with the fine character they exhibited in the rehearsals and performances. They were genuinely considerate, responsible, and concerned for their peers. Whenever I looked in on a rehearsal, or heard from their conductors and chaperones, the feedback I received made me very proud of them and pleased to be a part of the community in Rockville Centre.”
