Man beated, robbed in Merrick

A 13-year-old boy and two men were arrested in a violent robbery near Merrick Road and Hewlett Avenue late Wednesday night, police said.
Police said that Guillermo Antonio Hernandez, 18, threatened a 26-year-old man with a knife as he, Michael Ebinger, 22, and their young accomplice, all of Freeport, beat and robbed the man, making off with a cell phone, watch and money.
The three ran off and were arrested shortly after 11 p.m. near Sunrise Highway and Bellmore Avenue. They are charged with first-degree robbery and are scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court on March 12.
Officer John Mullaney of the Nassau County Police Department said the thirteen-year-old is not being charged as an adult.
According to police, the victim was not seriously injured and did not require immediate medical attention.
