Man charged with slashing victim outside Inwood bar

Police arrested and charged a 55-year-old man with slashing another man across his neck with a knife during a dispute outside an Inwood bar last week, authorities said.
The suspect, John Tkacs, of Gateway Boulevard in Far Rockaway, was arrested shortly after the incident and charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a dangerous weapon in the fourth degree, police said.
The incident occurred in front of 205 Sheridan Blvd. at 12:20 a.m., Wednesday, July 4. The victim, a 39-year-old man from Inwood, had just left the Den, a bar in Inwood, and was getting into his car with his wife, when the suspect confronted him with a pocket folding knife, officials said.
The suspect apparently was upset about the way the victim was treating the victim's wife.
The victim wanted his wife to go home, Sheehan said.
