A man attempted to rob the Bank of America in Lynbrook on June 22 but left the bank before getting any money, police said.
According to detectives, a male subject entered the bank, located at 300 Merrick Rd., at around 2 p.m. and presented a note demanding money from a teller. For reasons unknown, police said, the man left the bank before obtaining any proceeds and fled on foot towards Forest Avenue. There were six employees and four customers present. There were no injuries.
The subject is described as a male, white or possibly Hispanic in his 30s, 6’0” with a medium build, wearing a dark Yankees baseball cap, sunglasses, white and black striped long sleeve button down shirt and jeans.
