On Dec. 15, Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano honored Rockville Centre residents Michael Orzano and Rita Shaver of Rockville Centre for their work as volunteers in New York’s Medical Reserve Corps.
“Tonight, we recognize the Medical Reserve Corps for playing a key role in supporting the Nassau County Department of Health during Superstorm Sandy,” said Mangano. “We gather tonight to honor the Medical Reserve Corps members who, in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, went above and beyond the call of duty in order to provide medical care to our Nassau County residents. We owe a debt of gratitude to these professional volunteers who often left their own devastated homes to serve county residents.”
