It was a race to the finish — with a to prize of a trip for two to Ireland as the goal — for dozens of quick, nimble and steady-handed participants who took part in McQuades’ 3rd Annual Mayor’s Run last Saturday.

The runners ran holding cups filled to the brim with mock Guinness (green water) and the first one to finish the race with the most still in the cup was declared the winner — this year it was Elizabeth Needham.

The event featured food, a beer garden, music, raffles, rides for children, music by “Permission to Launch,” and a $10 50/50 that raised money for Lynbrook resident Brian Ciampi.
