Live animal fun
On Thursday, July 23 at 4 p.m., Green Meadows Farm will bring baby animals to the library, in an effort to educate children and families on the importance of living with Mother Nature. The event is for families with children of all ages. Registration begins July 9 for Elmont Library card holders.
Book buddies
Monday, July 27 at 3 p.m., teens in grades 7-12 are invited to be part of the BOOK BUDDIES program by reading aloud to children age 3-5. All teen buddies must attend an orientation meeting, Monday, July 6, at 1 p.m. to receive an information packet.
Six weeks to a healthier you
On Wednesday, July 29 at 11 a.m., the library will be running a self-management program which provides support for persons with chronic diseases or who care for someone with a chronic disease. Program provided through the Nassau County Department of Senior Affairs in partnership with Stanford University Patient Education Research Center. Sessions meet for six weeks and last 2 1/2 hours. Registration required/limited class size.
Grandparents support group
On Friday, July 24 at 9:30 a.m. the group will hold their monthly meeting. It is an ongoing open discussion group with Sari Flesch, A.A.B.A. and Social Worker. Nassau County Department of Senior Affairs. Coffee and cookies will be served.
Blood Drive
Monday, August 3 from 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The library will be holding a blood drive. The drive is sponsored by New York Blood Center. The Busmobile will be in the library parking lot.

The librarys next summer story time will be on Wednesday, July 29. It is broken into three groups, 3-4 year-olds at 10 and 11:30 a.m., followed by 4-6 year-olds at 1:30 p.m. Children must be registered in advance.
