Food drive
The Jewish Community Center of West Hempstead is hosting a Food Drive all year long. The center is asking Long Islanders for non-perishable food products in order to help fill the depleted inventory in area food pantries. Drop off your donations to the center, 711 Dogwood Avenue, near the entrance at the side door. Each time the bin is full, the food will immediately be donated. Clothing Drive
The Boy Scout Troop 24 will be collecting used clothes for the Vietnam Veterans of America on Saturday, May 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please bring clothing to the church basement of Our Lady of Lourdes. Memorial Day Parade
The annual Memorial Day Parade in West Hempstead will be held on Monday, May 25 at 10 a.m. The parade will start at the Eagle Avenue BOCES School in West Hempstead and run west on Eagle Avenue to Hempstead Avenue turn onto Nassau Boulevard and end at the Echo Park parking field.
