Breakfast Club meeting
The Long Island Breakfast Club will hold its next meeting on Saturday, March 21 at the Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park at 9 a.m. Kenny Moore, co-author of “The CEO and the Monk: One Company’s Journey to Profit and Purpose,” will be the guest speaker. The founders of the club are from West Hempstead.

Food drive
The Jewish Community Center of West Hempstead is hosting a Food Drive all year long. The center is asking Long Islanders for non-perishable food products in order to help fill the depleted inventory in area food pantries. Drop off your donations to the center, 711 Dogwood Avenue, near the entrance at the side door. Each time the bin is full, the food will immediately be donated. Meet your neighbor
The Malverne Civic Association will host a Come Out and Meet Your Fellow Neighbor event on Tuesday, March 24 at Connelly Station on Hempstead Avenue from 7 to 10 p.m. Free snacks will be provided. For more information, go to malvernecivic.org.
Music concert
The Malverne Historical and Preservation Society will host An Afternoon of Music program on Sunday, April 26 from 1 to 4 p.m. Singers Christine Solimeno and Peter Rapanaro will perform. There will be raffles and refreshments will be served. The cost is $5 for admission.

Storytime
A Winter Pre School Storytime for 3 1/2 to 5 years will be held on Monday, March 23 at 1:30 p.m.
Tea time
A Victorian Irish Tea will be held on Tuesday, March 24 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Join Chef Barbara Sheridan as she teaches how to serve a proper cup of tea and how to prepare and serve scones, clotte cream, tea bread and tea sandwiches.
Jump for Joy
A Jump for Joy program will be held on Friday, March 27. Session one for kids 18 to 36 months will be from 10:15 to 11 a.m. and session two for kids 18 months to 5 will be from 11:15 a.m. to noon. The cost is $30.
SAT practice test
Kaplan Test Prep will give a free four-hour SAT exam on Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is only a practice test, so the scores will not be reported. Students will receive their scores and SAT test secrets during a seminar at the library on Tuesday, April 7 at 7 p.m.
Tax class
Town of Hempstead Receiver of Taxes Don Clavin will visit the library on Tuesday, March 31 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Clavin will address any tax concerns and questions that residents have.

SAT workshop
A SAT Workshop will be held on Thursday, March 19 from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. Taking the S.A.T. in May? Sign up for this six-week course to help you prepare. The cost is $80.
Infants and Parents
An Infants and Parents program will be held on Fridays, March 20 and 27 from 10 to 11 a.m. Join the library’s specialist who will guide you and your baby, ages 1-12 months, in bonding, massage and play.

Tax help for senior citizens
An AARP Tax Help class will be held on Tuesday, March 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers will assist low-income senior citizens in preparing simple tax returns. To schedule an appointment, please call the library’s Reference Desk.

An Exercise Class will be held on Tuesday, March 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Knit and Crochet
A Knit and Crochet program will be held on Tuesday, March 24 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Poetry Reading
A Poetry Reading program will be held on Tuesday, March 24 from 7 to 9 p.m.This program is for those who love to read, write, or just listen to the poetic form. Johanna Mastrototaro will read, which will be followed by an open microphone.
Book discussions
A Book Chat program for fourth and fifth grade students will be held on Tuesday, March 24 at 7 p.m. Students will discuss “The Invention of Hugo Cabret” by Brian Selznick. A Book Discussion for adults will be held on Wednesday, March 25 at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. “Wait Till Next Year” by Doris Kearns Goodwin will be discussed at both sessions.
