Town Health Fair to provide free services to seniors.
The Town of Hempstead is hosting its annual Health and Wellness Fair for senior residents on Thursday, June 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lido Beach Town Park. The Fair is sponsored by the Town in cooperation with South Nassau Communities Hospital, Winthrop-University Hospital and Nassau University Medical Center. Among the free services provided at the fair are blood pressure, glaucoma, hearing, chiropractic, podiatry and blood glucose screenings. Vendors wanted in August.
St. Catherine of Sienna Church will host its annual Festival Aug. 8-12. Due to demand, the vendor¹s market will be expanded. Vendor space is limited and available on a first come, first serve basis. There will be no duplication of vendors such as Pampered Chef, Mary Kay or Tupperware. Only the first to apply will be accepted. About 10 feet of space is available for a $300 non-refundable donation per space for all five days. Vendors must supply their own tables and chairs. Festival is outdoors, rain or shine. The Young Widows and Widowers

Scholarship fund-raiser.
The Elmont Memorial Library Board of Trustees and the BroadHollow Theatre Group want to raise money for four college scholarships two for graduating students from Elmont Memorial High School and two for students from Sewanhaka High School.
Tickets to a live performance of Learner & Loewe¹s My Fair Lady are $23, with proceeds earmarked for the scholarships.
