Spring craft sale.


St. Boniface Church, 631 Elmont Rd., Elmont, is having a spring craft sale from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 2. All proceeds will benefit parish human services.


Neil Simon's "Fools."

Elmont F.D. annual fund drive


is scheduled to run through May 14. For 78 years, the Elmont Fire Department has held annual fund drives to raise money for needed items and services not included in the Elmont Fire District budget.


A good portion of these funds are used for additional training, basic maintenance of the firehouses, additional insurance and a hot cup of coffee in the winter or a cold drink in the summer when the 185 members of the department are answering one of the 2,000-plus calls the Elmont FD responds to a year.

Nassau University Medical Center offers free mammography screenings the third Wednesday of every other month from 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. at St. Boniface Church, 631 Elmont Rd., Elmont. Women must be over 40, have proof of Nassau County residency and not pregnant or nursing. All health insurance is accepted and there is no charge for the service other than insurance coverage. Trip to the Catskills.


Franklin Square Jewish Center members and friends are making a 5-day/4-night trip to Kutsher's Country Club in the Catskills from Monday, May 8 to Friday, May 12. They will also visit the Mighty M Gaming Casino at the Monticello Raceway.


The trip costs $400 per person for a double occupancy and $500 for a single occupancy. The cost includes round trip transportation; all gratuities; lodging in a super deluxe room; 12 meals plus a buffet lunch at the Mighty M; a cocktail party; a different variety show each night; music and dancing before and after each show; and a full day of activities run by Kutsher's staff.
