The Thimble Island Cruise The Thimbles in Connecticut number in the hundreds and are named after a thimble-shaped berry. Some of the islands are so small that a single cottage covers their surfaces. A few islands are large, with a dozen or so houses snuggled together. We invite you to cruise to the Thimble Islands, and share a fascinating narrated boat ride describing the glacier formed rock islands, with unique Victorian homes perched on atop. After the cruise, you'll lunch at the famous U.S.S. Chowder Pot where New England Chowder will be served first. Choose your entree: Seafood Imperial, Baked Stuffed Sole or Breast of Chicken Piccatta. To top off this delicious luncheon will be a Cheesecake Roll. Our day will end with a shopping spree at The Outlets at Clinton. A $67 check is payable to the West Hempstead Public Library at registration, which is ongoing. There will be an 8:30 a.m. pick-up at the library and return at about 8:00 p.m. Please join us on Wednesday, August 10.
