Memorial to commemorate begining of the Holocaust

The City of Long Beach will host a Kristallnacht Memorial on Sunday, Oct. 31, at 1 p.m. at City Hall on the 6th floor. Kristallnact, commemorates the begining of the Holocaust.

The keynote speaker will be Nathan Offen, a native of Poland and a Holocaust survivor. More than 50 members of Offen's family were murdered during the Holocaust years in Germany and Eastern Europe.

Offen's book, "To Life!" depicts the struggles of the Polish Jews during Hitler's reign of terror.

Also in attendance will be Rabbi Bennett Hermann, Temple Emanu-El; Honarable Mona Goodman,vice president of the Long Beach City Council; the Honorables Dean Skelos, New York State Senator; Harvey Weisenberg, New York State Assemblyman and Denise Ford, Nassau County Legislator.

Master of Ceremonies for the memorial is Vincent Marmorale.
