On Feb. 4 at 12:45 p.m. Nassau County Police arrested two men from the Bronx who tried to withdraw money from Wells Fargo Bank at 3584 Long Beach Road in Oceanside.
Akeem Benjamin, 28, of 169th Street, entered the bank and tried to take out $3,500 from a victim’s account with a forged California Driver’s License. The teller notified the police. Police officers found Benjamin in a van outside of the bank, where they found two forged credit cards and another California Driver’s License in his wallet. A passenger in the van, Gerald Harley, 27, of Commonwealth Avenue, had forged credit cards and forged driver’s licenses too.
Benjamin was charged with attempted Grand Larceny third degree, four counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument second degree, and Forgery second degree. Harley was charged with six counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument second degree. Benjamin and Harley were arraigned on Feb. 5 in First District Court in Hempstead.
