Jamal Linning, 20, of Angevine Avenue, Randyl Jones, 20, of Wendell Street, and Clarence Watts, 20, of Morrell Street, all in Hempstead, were arrested on Oct. 16 and charged with first-degree and second-degree robbery.
The mugging of a young man occurred at midnight at Broad and Lafayette streets in North Bellmore on Thursday, Sept. 4.
At the time, a 20-year-old man was walking northwest on Broad Street when he was grabbed by the neck and dragged down the block by one suspect, and then approached from the back and held at gunpoint by another, police said. The unidentified victim turned over his wallet, cash and cell phone to the muggers, who got into a vehicle waiting at Lafayette Street, then headed southeast.
The incident occurred in a relatively deserted but well-lit, recently revitalized commercial side-street just steps away from where two main thoroughfares intersect, Bellmore Avenue and Newbridge Road, and about a block away from the North Bellmore Fire Department Engine Company No. 1 headquarters.
